Mind Blowing Talents in the Halloween Makeup Competition

We might have found the next super stars!

Get to Know the Winners of the Halloween Makeup Competition!

uring the last week of October we held a Halloween Makeup Competition on our Social Media Accounts. It was so exciting and lovely to see all the Makeup Artists and Bloggers showing off their makeup skills. Two winners were chosen, one was picked from the public and another contestant was chosen by our Beauty experts team. The two talented winners will be receiving 2 surprise boxes full of beauty products which included brands like Sephora, Tarte, Fenty Beauty, among other fab brands, worth €100 each. We had simply asked them to introduce themselves by sharing their vision, passion and aspirations in life

The winner chosen from the online community was Shirley Cachia from Malta. She loves makeup so much and experiments a lot on her free time.

I believe that all women are beautiful without makeup. We don’t wear makeup to look pretty for someone else – we do it for us, we wear it because we enjoy the process of putting it on. Either its is natural or with bright colors its always so much fun and we do it for ourselves.” says Shirley. Shirley works at Patrick Stellar Ltd, a Wine & Spirits company and her plans for the future is to become an entrepreneur running her own business while pursuing her dream of becoming a Makeup Artist. Not only she has the makeup skills of a Pro but also an amazing voice. Just check out her latest video and make sure to put the sound on! Keep it up Shirley, you can be the next pop star!

The second winner chosen from our Beauty Experts was Felicia Boettcher, half Swiss half German freelance Makeup Artist. Felicia is based in Milan where she works in the fashion & beauty industry.
”In my makeup I’m all about “that GLOW”, I never say no to freckles or glossy lids, and I have a slight obsession with glitter.” says Felicia.

Actually, it’s funny to have won the Halloween contest because creating Halloween makeup looks has been a big part of my journey of becoming a makeup artist. My real beauty obsession didn’t start until recently. I had always liked beauty and doing my makeup when going out with my friends and on Halloween, of course, but that was basically it. I studied fashion business in Milan, tried different careers in the fashion industry, I was even involved in a startup for which I moved back to Munich for several months. Yet, around New Years time last year I found myself back in Milan with no idea what I was going to do next. In my mind I had two possible solutions, study to become a graphic designer or do a makeup course. When I spoke to my family about it I got a very clear reaction, they encouraged me to study makeup saying they loved my Halloween looks so much and I should give it a try. So I signed up at Pro*Lab Academy Milan. "Studying makeup in this amazing school has opened up my mind in ways I didn’t imagine before. My mentors Carlo Concato and Mara De Marco showed me, with so much passion, all the different products and interpretations of makeup and they pushed me to be creative and to believe in myself. And I am so exited to have made makeup my work. I know I’m still at the beginning, but I dream of being able to do this line of work for a long time and maybe even create my own makeup and/or skin line one day.”

Felicia hopes to inspire other people that have not found their way yet to follow their dreams and believe in themselves! What a great message, well done and keep it up!
